I love the Easter season because it always serves as a good time to reflect on what Christ suffered through to pay the price for my sin. In church yesterday, Amos retold the story of Jesus' ressurection and mentioned that the women who were coming to visit his grave were "In love with Jesus." This really got me thinking about my own life. Although love is a word that is very commonly used (as in "I love chocolate . . .") the phrase "in love" is special, and very different somehow. Can I say that I am truly In Love with Jesus? When I think about the words that I would use to classify the "in love" feeling I share with Scott I come up with this list: Infactuation, desire for closeness and spending time together, affection, commitment, trust and a sincere effort put in to keep these feelings alive and growing. Are these passionate feelings the same as how I feel about my Savior who gave up everything to give me life? Sometimes I'm not sure. I really felt a conviction yesterday to find a way to show God this love in my everyday life. He deserves my best and I have to confess that I'm not always willing to hand it over to Him. I really want my child to grow in God's unfailing love and peace, and I know that the example that Scott and I give will be a big part in how God works in his or her life. I know that a lot of you are praying for us as we prepare to become new parents and I definitely feel your support and encouragement. Please pray for me also that I will find ways to show God every day that I am In Love with Him and that He is the most important part of my life. Hallelujah Christ is Risen!!
Another thing that I enjoy about the Easter season is family gatherings! What a wonderful time to come together and celebrate with family. Our Kornelsen and Waldner gatherings are so different! The Kornelsen gathering is smaller and most of us cousins are "all grown up." The girls all went on a nice walk to the park. I stopped to take this picture because of the beautiful fountain these people had in their front yard. The weather that day was so gorgeous!! Our Waldner gathering is HUGE and filled with noise and young kids. It's fun in its own way, but can be a bit tiring, so thankfully it was a nice enough day that people could spread out and burn energy outside (on the bottom picture you can see the guys playing football in the background).

Hey Brandi...these are some great shots of family. We forgot to do our picture! You & Amber both look so pretty! Haley was adorable in her little dress. Too bad she didn't pose for you :( Seems like your new camera takes great shots!
Brandi, what a great challenge for us all...I'll most definitley be praying for you. It's exciting to hear your desire to serve & love God!!
He is risen INDEED! and thanks for the thougts, really is something to think about...sometimes i think about how loosly is use "love you"...but i think there are all types of love that can fit all of my friendship & relationships...but this really did make me think about how in love I am with God - could use some work.
we're sure thinking of you here in winkler as the situation with travel is not the best. God will take care of it!
He is risen indeed!
Yes those are my precious grandchildren and all of them are "in love" with Their Saviour Jesus. They ask Jesus into their hearts around 2 and 1/2-3 years old. Tirzah the oldest asked Jesus into her tummy (which fit the missionary life style her parents were living at the time). All you have to do is live the Love you have for Jesus and they will catch it. Their parents are youth leaders. Her blog is yarnyenta.blogspot.com. if you want to visit.Speaking of our Tirzah, she could also use your prayers as she is having a kidney ultrasound today. Blessings to you as you prepare for such a gift!
Thanks for the encouragement everyone! I really appreciate it.
Bubbebobbie - that is hilarious, my younger sister also asked Jesus into her tummy!!
Great pictures! It was nice being able to talk with you for awhile at the gathering. I never really realize how much I miss you until I get back and talk to you. I think we would be great friends if I actually lived in the country. Maybe sometime I will, who knows?!?
Hi, I clicked over here from Amber's... Nice to meet you. I love your blog! I know some people in Morris, and my bro and sis in law live in Winkler. Praying those waters recede quickly!
Congrats on your coming new baby!
