Baby Chicks!

Scott's Dad has been "collecting" all sorts of birds, ducks, and chickens over this last year, and after Christmas he started incubating the eggs to raise his own birds. Kalia is fascinated by the babies, but a little scared of them too. She gives them a "pat pat" and then when they move, she jumps back, giggles, and says "oops!" She keeps telling us that she's going to hold one, but when we get there she's a little too nervous. The closest she's come is holding one together with daddy. It's funny seeing how she reacts to different animals and she always knows now that when we go to grandpa's we'll get to see his chicks.

Cozy in the Cottage

I just love going to the cabin with my family any time of year! I guess Scott was feeling a bit cooped up this winter with nowhere to go, so he suggested a weekend away at the lake! Friday afternoon when we got there the weather was just beautiful, but Saturday and Sunday were COLD!! Dad and Scott had brought fourwheelers along to "play in the snow," but they only ended up going for about an hour. Kalia and I had also planned to bundle up and go for a ride, but we didn't dare when even the guys thought it was too cold. So, we stayed indoors warming by the crackling fire, playing games, reading and just enjoying eachother's company. Crazy as it may sound, it seemed like Kalia remembered the cabin from the last time we were there in Fall! She walked around showing us stuff that we had showed her in the summer. I am always amazed by her memory - she will just randomly start talking to me about something that happened months ago! Like going to see Santa with Auntie Jenna and Daddy in the mall and how she was scared. That was in the beginning of December! It is just such a joy seeing all of the information that she soaks up! Kalia just has to see someone do something once, and then the next time the situation arises, she does it on her own. Kids are so fun, but I did say to my mom yesterday: "How can one little girl be so cute and make you so frustrated at the exact same time?!" Anyways, back to the cabin . . . as you can see I took a ton of pictures, and as usual had trouble deciding which ones were my favorites.

Showing us where "papa and daddy" are fourwheeling!

One of her favorite things to do at the cabin was play on the bunk beds This is the face she gave me as she shouted "NO MORE PICTURES!!"

reading a story together

Taking a huge chomp of the apple she stole off the table
I can't believe how chubby her face looks in this picture.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Scott and I had celebrated Valentine's Day early yesterday with a fun night out together! When Scott got home from work he suprised me and told me that he had lined up my dad to watch Kalia while we went out for supper and to a Moose game! We had a really good time and my favorite part of hockey (fighting) happened twice in the first 7 minutes! It was great having a date night because we really don't go out that often without Kalia, and although she's tons of fun too, sometimes we like to hang out just the two of us. They had extra "smooch-cams" at the game seeing as it was the day before V-day (and the "prize" was a bouquet of flowers) but we didn't make it onto any. One of Scott's ex hockey teammates did though and they even won, so that was kind of fun to see. I love both of my valentines! Kalia has been saying "Valetimes - I love you!!" for the last couple of days and it is so sweet. Plus to my other Valentine, I love you for being such a hard worker and for bringing so much fun into my life. Thanks for the suprise date - you're the best!

Here is Kalia all dressed in pink and red for Valentine's day today. This is her goofy look that she gives me when I ask her to smile for the camera. Auntie Jenna came over today to play with her while I taught some make-up piano lessons and then stayed for lunch so we had a fun day "celebrating" today too.

My Birthday Lunch

Mom, Cristina, Jenna, Kalia, Ally, my Mother-in-Law and I went out for a fun lunch the week of my 25th birthday! We went to a cute little place that I had never been to before so that was fun. We also went to pick out my new Kate Spade China that I wanted to start collecting, and asked for as a birthday gift. So fun!! Thanks girls!

I know my posts haven't been much more than pictures lately, but Kalia is sick with her first ear infection, plus I have a really bad cold. So . . . that results in little time or ambition for blogging, I just didn't want to fall too far behind!! Eventually I'll start making things a bit more personal again. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy all of the pictures!

Random Pics

She just LOVES talking on the phone! Sometimes if I don't give it to her she gets really hurt feelingsn and I don't know how to explain when its someone she can't talk to! When the phone rings, we both race for it and if she gets to it first, she turns it on, says hello, and makes a run for it!!

Tea parties are one of Kalias favorite things! Here she is having one with her dolly, Jill
