Oliver Jacob

Oliver has really started to interact with us in the last little while! It is so easy to make him smile. Sometimes it seems like he has just been sitting there waiting for any excuse to smile becuase as soon as he looks at someone, he gets all excited! He smiles, coos and even laughs, kicking his feet and waving his arms all around. He is such a happy little guy. He really only cries when he is hungry or has a dirty diaper, although he does have a bit of a fussy time each evening. One thing that drives me crazy a little is what a night owl he is! Kalia is long in bed and Oliver just stays up!! His average bedtime is midnight, although it can get as early as 11 or as late as 1:30. The good thing about his staying up late is that he sleeps until 5 or 6 and then goes back to sleep until 9 or 10. He sleeps a lot of the day away as well, which makes it nice for spending time with Kalia or even taking the moniter and going out in the yard with her. Oliver seems quite enthralled with Kalia. He loves to stare at her and watch her every move, although he does seem a bit unsure of being smothered to bits with her kisses sometimes. He is also very strong! He always thinks that he should be holding himself up, pushing on his legs, or moving his head around! Because of this, I love when I get a chance to hold him while he sleeps because he turns so soft and cuddly. Wow, he has been growing so fast! At his six week appointment he was already 13 pounds, 6 ounces!! He sure doesn't seem like a little newborn anymore. I am so excited to watch him grow into his own little person and see how he and Kalia will interact and play together. How fun it is to have my little boy.

I LOVE all the pictures of both Kalia and Oliver! So precious! Oliver sounds like he's a very good baby, and Kalia sounds like a very good big sis! :)
