Big Baby!

Wow! I hadn't been keeping up lately with how the baby was growing inside of me, but today I thought I'd check it out and I was suprised! Can you believe little "peanut" is almost two whole pounds already and around 14 and a half inches long?! More exciting changes: the lungs are starting to function and the brain is already becoming very active! I can't wait to meet this little person inside of me face to face! It was fun when Scott came home for him to see that my belly had grown in the days that he was gone. Everything seems to be moving so fast now! Scott and the MDS guys came back early on Saturday around 3 pm so that was a great part of my weekend! It feels good to have him at home again and it was fun to hear all about his time in Alabama. I will post pictures of his trip soon. Hey a question for all you moms out there - when the baby kicks, are the kicks up where the head is, or down at the other end? Just curious because I always feel kicks down under my belly button and was just wondering what position the baby is in.

Brandi - I don't have your email address, but I just wanted to thank you for the invitation to your party tonight (Tues). I would love to come, but I am not feeling good and I don't want you to get what I have. It would be awful to have a cold and not be able to use any meds. Have a great time - and we'll try again next time!

I too was always was very curious what part was where when I was pregnant. The baby flips and turns and repositions itself so often until later on when it's bigger and settles down into a head down position (well, hopefully it does...). Your doctor can usually tell when this happens....then you'll know the feet are up. Even then though, you still won't be able to tell if it's an elbow, foot, knee or what. Also, I always forgot to think about the fact that the baby is in the fetal position, so all of it's parts are kind of in the same area.

Yeah, baby, you are longer than a ruler already!! Keep kicking Mommy! (enjoy it now, you won't have encouragment to kick her when you are born!)
