Cozy in the Cottage

I just love going to the cabin with my family any time of year! I guess Scott was feeling a bit cooped up this winter with nowhere to go, so he suggested a weekend away at the lake! Friday afternoon when we got there the weather was just beautiful, but Saturday and Sunday were COLD!! Dad and Scott had brought fourwheelers along to "play in the snow," but they only ended up going for about an hour. Kalia and I had also planned to bundle up and go for a ride, but we didn't dare when even the guys thought it was too cold. So, we stayed indoors warming by the crackling fire, playing games, reading and just enjoying eachother's company. Crazy as it may sound, it seemed like Kalia remembered the cabin from the last time we were there in Fall! She walked around showing us stuff that we had showed her in the summer. I am always amazed by her memory - she will just randomly start talking to me about something that happened months ago! Like going to see Santa with Auntie Jenna and Daddy in the mall and how she was scared. That was in the beginning of December! It is just such a joy seeing all of the information that she soaks up! Kalia just has to see someone do something once, and then the next time the situation arises, she does it on her own. Kids are so fun, but I did say to my mom yesterday: "How can one little girl be so cute and make you so frustrated at the exact same time?!" Anyways, back to the cabin . . . as you can see I took a ton of pictures, and as usual had trouble deciding which ones were my favorites.

Showing us where "papa and daddy" are fourwheeling!

One of her favorite things to do at the cabin was play on the bunk beds This is the face she gave me as she shouted "NO MORE PICTURES!!"

reading a story together

Taking a huge chomp of the apple she stole off the table
I can't believe how chubby her face looks in this picture.

It is great that you guys can go away as a family and spend time together. Hopefully you can stay warm on this very chilly day!

She's so beautiful! That's so great that you can 'get away' together! Lyndon's parents have a cabin really close to here, and it's so wonderful being able to just take off for a few days! I love her 'don't take more pictures' face too...it's hilarious!
